DUI / DWI Third Offense
DUI / DWI Third Offense
A Third Driving Under the Influence Offense is considered extremely serious by law enforcement. Many states have passed Habitual Violators laws that allow felony convictions for a Third Offense. These offenders lose a majority of their civil rights such as being able to vote as well as permanently losing their license. A third time offender is subjected to jail time (usually 120 days to 12 months), community service (usually 30 days), a considerable fine ($1,000 - $5,000), permanent license restrictions, and a lengthier alcohol and drug education program. The offender may also be required to attend Alcoholic Anonymous meetings or a residential treatment center. If authority sees fit, the installation of an ignition device or the impounding of the offenders vehicle may be ordered. Additional Drunk Driving Information:
