Ex Oklahoma Judge Charged with DUI

In Tulsa, Oklahoma a former Creek County judge named Donald D. Thompson was recently charged with DUI (driving under the influence).  State prosecutors filed drunk driving charges against Thompson, who also has an indecent exposure conviction on his record, on December 11th.

Last Friday, Thompson was arrested on a DUI complaint and was booked at the Tulsa jail.  Shortly after, he was released on a $1,000 bond.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol allege that a trooper noticed that Thompson's vehicle was stopped on a Creek Turnpike shoulder, so the trooper went to speak with Thompson.   The trooper reported that the 62 year old had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and alcohol on his breath, all signs that are indicative of intoxication.

Additionally, Thompson's vehicle had a flat tire and some damage to the driver's side.  The trooper asked Thompson to take a breath alcohol test and his test result revealed that he had a blood alcohol concentration of .11%.  In Oklahoma, the legal limit is .08%.

Prior to his DUI charges, Thompson had been sentenced with 4 years of jail time for his indecent exposure charges.  He began his term in August of 2006 after he was accused of using a sexual device while he presided over trials.  However, he was released early on April 29, 2008 after receiving good behavior credits.
