Major Illinois Crash Leads to DUI Arrest

This past Thursday, an Illinois man was charged with drug possession and driving under the influence (DUI) after causing a major car accident.  It is reported that the collision injured 11 people who were present in 8 separate vehicles.

The man, 48 year old Anthony Parson, is reported to have been in possession of less than 15 grams of cocaine.  He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor DUI, reckless driving and operating a vehicle without insurance by Illinois law enforcement.  The accident took place on the 7300 block of South Eberhart.

At this time, police are deciding whether they will press felony charges against Parson, who had injured so many victims due to his recklessness.

10 of the 11 DUI accident victims were hospitalized and are expected to be released tomorrow.  One of the victims is reported to have suffered more serious injuries, but was not in critical condition.

Illinois police plan to continue their investigation and it is expected that they will disclose more facts about the case at a later time.
