Oakland Raiders' Defensive Tackle Charged with DUI

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Oakland Raiders' defensive tackle, Tommy Kelly, was arrested for DUI (driving under the influence) this past Monday.  He was booked after being arrested and then released Monday evening.

This past season, the L.A. Raiders decided to re-sign a contract with Kelly.  The contract was worth $50.2 million with a guaranteed $18.125 million.  After signing the contract, Kelly became the highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL.

Kelly went on record in July to say, "I understand a lot of things come with being a professional athlete, but I just like to play," and "I just like to go to work and come home. Now you have to be a leader and everything. ... Responsibility only messes you up when you ain't ready for it. I'll be all right."

If convicted of his DUI charges, Kelly would possibly face jail time, fines, probation and DUI School.  Kelly has yet to enter a plea.
