Baltimore Man Charged with DUI after Crashing into State Trooper

In Dundalk, Maryland, a man was placed under arrest last night for driving under the influence (DUI).  The man, 37 year old Michael Polanowski, was arrested after he struck a Maryland state trooper with his car.  The state trooper, Tpr. Rosenfeld, was issuing a ticket and standing on Interstate 695 at Perring Parkway when he was hit by Polanowski.

Tpr. Rosenfeld was rushed to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center shortly after the accident.  Police report that he was released late last night from the medical facility.

Yesterday, at 7:30 PM, Polanowski was driving on the 7900 block of Diehlwood Road.  He was driving in his 2005 Nissan when he drifted into the shoulder where Tpr. Rosefeld was standing.  Polanowski hit both Rosenfeld and the 1998 Hyundai that the trooper had pulled over to issue a traffic citation.

Police report that Rosenfeld was the only person that had been injured during the accident.

Polanowski is currently being held in the Baltimore County Detention Center on $10,000 bail.
