Delaware Man Charged with 7th DUI

In Delaware, state police report that a man was charged with his seventh driving under the influence offense. Prior to being charged with DUI, police say that 47-year-old Robert A. Hynes Jr. left the scene of an accident and drove the wrong way on a state highway.

The accident that Hynes was involved in took place on Coastal Highway last week Thursday morning while he was driving under the influence of alcohol.  Authorities report that Hynes has six prior convictions for driving under the influence.  However, he had a valid driver's license when he was arrested by police.

Hynes is being held on a $51,500 secured bond and police are unsure of whether he has an attorney or not.
