DUI and Texting Leads to Vehicular Manslaughter

Some people just will not learn that texting while driving is as dangerous as drinking and driving.  Ana Voskanian, 20, now faces vehicular manslaughter charges for killing an 80-year-old woman crossing the street in Glendale.

Voskanian failed to come to a complete stop at the stop sign located at Columbus and California avenues on September 15. Her failure resulted in the death of Misak Ranjbar who was crossing the street.

Her bail is set at $50,000. Voskanian has an arraignment hearing scheduled this week at the Glendale courthouse. She could be charged with felony vehicular manslaughter, according to the District Attorney.

If someone you know has recently been charged with vehicular manslaughter, this is a very serious charge. Don't rely on a court-appointed attorney to represent your loved one in the court room.  Instead, work with a DUI attorney that has successfully handled similar cases and who can protect your loved one's legal rights.
