Former State Attorney Charged with DUI

A former Assistant State Attorney realized that he wasn't going to escape DUI charges when he was arrested at work last week. Thomas H Nevins, 53, was fired this week by the State Attorney Thomas Gibbons office this week due to these charges.

Despite public concern that Nevins may have also been performing his work duties under the influence of alcohol, the office issued this statement through spokeswoman Stephanee Smith, "At this time, we have no information to suggest he was drinking while performing his duties as a felony prosecutor." She was still reviewing whether he had participated in any felony cases on the day he was arrested and assured the public that he hadn't signed any warrant papers either.

When Nevins had been pulled over earlier that week the officer on the scene, Brandon Whittaker, wrote that the assistant state attorney smelled heavily of alcohol, appeared disoriented, had glazed eyes and admitted that he had been drinking earlier in the evening.

If you have been charged with DUI, don't wait to get representation from a DUI lawyer.
