DUI Supsect Killed during Police Shootout

In Los Angeles, it is reported that a DUI suspect was killed this week.  Following a car chase, the suspect and a Los Angeles police officer exchanged gunfire.  The suspect was hit and killed and the officer, Rosario Herrera, was shot in the wrist.

The chase occurred this past Saturday in Sun Valley and ended in a violent shootout.  At this time, it is unclear who fired the first shot.

The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, was shot in the torso.  He had to be rushed to the hospital where he later died from his gunshot injury.  The officer suffered a gunshot to the writs and was said to be in stable condition. 

Police say that the incident will remain under investigation.
