Mary Shelton’s DUI Charges Dismissed

As a result of a plea deal with California prosecutors, Mary Shelton will have her driving under the influence (DUI) charges dismissed.

Back in April, the actress was arrested for DUI in Hollywood.  Police say that her arrest stemmed from the fact that she failed field sobriety tests.

Shelton is well-known for playing Wendy the lifeguard in "The Sandlot".  Reports indicate that she will plead no contests to speed exhibition and in return, her two DUI charges will be dismissed.  Shelton will be responsible for paying $240 in fines and additional penalties.  Additionally, the actress will remain on informal probation for two years.

On June 21, 2010, a judge is expected to hear and review the plea.

If you have been charged with DUI and you would like to fight your charges, your best option is to secure legal representation from an experienced DUI defense attorney.  In some cases, your lawyer can negotiate reduced charges on your behalf or even have your DUI charges dismissed, like Mary Shelton.
