Motorcyclist Charged with DUI by California Highway Patrol

This past Saturday, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrested a motorcyclist for driving under the influence after a single-vehicle accident occurred.

According to police reports, 55 year old Harold Harmon was driving a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol when he caused an accident at 7PM.  During the crash, the motorcycle was sent spinning into a curb near East D Street.  Police say that spin out occurred because Harmon was speeding and trying to make an extremely sharp turn.  After the accident, Harmon was admitted into a local hospital, but was reported to be in stable condition.

Prior to the accident, police were on the lookout for motorcyclists who were partaking in unsafe driving conditions amongst the Infineon Speedway crowds.  Police remain uncertain as to whether Harmon was amongst the crowds or a lone motorcyclist when his accident occurred.
