Oxnard Gets Grant to Combat DUI

This week, local news sources announced that the Oxnard Police Department was provided with a $305,000 grant.  The recent grant is meant to endorse a year-long DUI prevention program in the County.

It is said that all of the money will allow police to utilize enforcement measures to combat driving under the influence.  The large grant was awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

When asked about the money, Scott Whitney the interim Oxnard police chief said, "We appreciate the partnership and support that we receive from the California Office of Traffic Safety."

He said that the money will be used to target DUI offenders in the county as well as support educational programs throughout the city.

If you have been charged with driving under the influence whether for the first or subsequent time, it is important that you protect yourself by hiring a local DUI attorney as soon as possible.
