Woman Causes Single Vehicle DUI Crash

In El Centro, California Highway Patrol is saying that they arrested a woman for driving under the influence this past Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Rosa Cordova was traveling east on Interstate 8 just before 6:00 PM on Sunday.  Police say she was driving at 60 mph and due to her intoxicated state, officers say that she allowed her car to head northeast near Imperial Highway.

Cordova's vehicle traveled across both traffic lanes and off of the paved road.  Then, the car ran over the center median, down an embankment and proceeded to rollover.  The car allegedly suffered major damage and Cordova only suffered minor injuries.

Police later arrested Cordova for DUI.
