DUI Offender Had 4 Minors in Car at Time of Arrest

This week, it was reported that a person had four children in the vehicle at the time of a DUI arrest.

The suspect, a 35-year-old woman, was arrested in Tennessee last week when officers observed her going 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. In addition to speeding, the woman failed to maintain her lane on Interstate 75 and even crossed the gore. When they pulled her over, officers noticed alcohol on her breath, slurred speech and red eyes. After failing the field sobriety tests and refusing to take a breath test, the woman admitted to having a few drinks earlier in the day.

She was taken into custody and charged on suspicion of driving under the influence, as well as child endangerment, speeding, terroristic threats and reckless driving. With her at the time of arrest was her 13-year-old daughter in the front seat, and three children in the back, two 8-year-olds and one 7-year-old. The children are now in the custody of the suspect's boyfriend.

If you are pulled over for DUI and have minors in your vehicle, you can face enhanced charges and DUI penalties if you are convicted.  To get the help you need to fight your charges, it is advised that you work with a DUI lawyer.
