Mother Faces Up To 8 Years for DUI Offense Involving Son

A mother in Burlington now faces up to eight years in prison for a DUI charge that involves her son.

What began as a day of shopping for Nancy Contois and her 14-year-old son ended in flashing lights, although her son did try to prevent it. When he realized that his mother was unable to drive safely, he attempted to dissuade her from doing so by refusing to get in the car.  Passersby witnessed the confrontation between Contois and her son and called the police.

The responding officers, who believed they were called to a possible domestic violence dispute, later charged the mother with two counts of reckless endangerment, one count of resisting arrest and one count of driving under the influence for the fourth time. According to the Burlington Free Press Contois plead guilty to all counts.

If you're facing charges for driving under the influence, now is the time to speak with a DUI lawyer!
