City of Glendale Holding DUI Checkpoint

Checkpoints have long been a method used to deter drivers from getting behind the wheel drunk. In order to capture drunk drivers and deter others, the Glendale Police Department will be holding a DUI/license checkpoint this week. Although the location has yet to be announced, drivers should be aware that it will be taking place. All vehicles must pass through the checkpoint and police will be allowed to remove any driver that appears to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Any drivers that are believed to be intoxicated may be asked to complete a field sobriety test and Breathalyzer exam. Police will also be checking licenses to ensure that all documents are up to date and there are no suspensions on record.

Over the past three years, police in Glendale have investigated 346 traffic injuries and fatalities caused by drunk drivers. The local authorities urge any drivers that witness possible drunk driving to call 911 immediately. Arrested for DUI? Don't wait to get a DUI lawyer involved in your case!
