Angry Marijuana Addict Crushes Police Cruisers with Tractor

A Vermont farmer was furious when he was arrested for marijuana possession and also charged with resisting arrest. The farmer was eventually released from jail on bail, but that didn’t squelch his anger at the police. His retaliation reached new heights then Roger Pion took a giant farm tractor and bulldozed over at least 7 police cruisers parked outside of a sheriff’s office. The man was most likely under the influence of drugs at the time, which means that he was guilty of a drug DUI in addition to at least seven counts of assaulting a police officer’s property.

Pion was taken into custody shortly after the episode, which occurred on July 26th, 2012. Thankfully, no one was injured in the episode, which could have been deadly had someone been standing in Pion’s way. One witness says that the tractor’s tires were probably about 15 feet high. The Chief Deputy Sherriff Mr. Phil Brooks told the Burlington Free Press that Pion crushed more than half of the cars that are owned by the department. He also damaged two unmarked vehicles, one being a large van.

Sometimes when people are under the influence of drugs like marijuana it can be a serious issue. These people will make foolish decisions when they act on their impulses. Some of these choices, such as Pion’s decision, can end up costing the offender time in jail or prison, fines, and a suspended license. Even though Pion was not in an automobile, he can still be charged with driving under the influence of drugs. This is because DUI laws can apply to any sort of situation where the driver is operating a motorized vehicle with a BC over 0.08 or drugs in his or her system.
