DUI Offender Violates Probation Terms

One man already behind bars had his sentenced lengthened last week. He was found to be in violation of the terms of his parole when officers found homemade alcohol in his cell. J.H. used to work as a fire captain for the Long Beach department. He was sentenced to one year behind bars for the drunk driving accident that left a bicyclist critically injured. He was able to strike a plea deal with the prosecution that allowed him to serve just one year behind bars and then probation after, rather than spend several years in jail.

However, he violated the terms of his parole when officers found the homemade alcohol in his cell. He drained the ethanol from hand sanitizer and used salt to filter the solution. Since he was not allowed to drink any alcohol after causing the DUI accident, he was given four more years behind bars.
