Brandon Meriweather Stopped for Suspicion of DUI

Another professional athlete finds himself in legal trouble. This time it is Brandon Meriweather, a player for the Washington Redskins, who has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Meriweather was caught speeding last week by an officer in Arlington County. When the officer administered a routine field sobriety test, the famed strong safety failed the test. He refused to take a Breathalyzer exam and could not name the nightclub which he had just left minutes before. The athlete was arrested and brought to a detention center where he was charged on suspicion of driving under the influence and refusal to take a Breathalyzer exam. It is uncertain whether the police officer knew that he was arresting a famous athlete or not.

The Pro Bowler just signed a $6 million contract with the Redskins late last year. The team managers have yet to comment on the arrest and whether it will affect his ability to play in the upcoming season. Were you recently arrested for DUI?
