Falcons Running Back Charged with DUI

The Atlanta Falcons’ running back, RB Turner, was recently arrested for a DUI, after he was pulled over for speeding early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred only hours after the Falcons beat the Denver Broncos on Monday night. Supposedly, the athlete was out celebrating the win with his team when he decided to drive home from a strip club with an illegal blood-alcohol limit. Turner was quick to apologize to his team and those that he is associated with. He also apologized to his fans, saying that he made a bad decision. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that Turner was pulled over shortly after 4 a.m. when an officer clocked Turner going almost 100 mph in a 65 mph zone. He was on the I-85 near Indian Trail Road in Flower Branch, GA.

The football star pulled over to the side of the road when beckoned to do so by an officer. The law enforcement officer asked Turner how much he had been drinking, and the football player admitted that he had about five shots at a strip club in Magic City. He was booked in jail just after 5 a.m. and was released two hours later on a $2,006 bond. The person who bailed Turner out also had to pay an additional $173 bond for his speeding ticket.

Despite the arrest and subsequent trial that he will have to attend, Turner plans to play in the Falcons game next Sunday. He told reporters that no one has told him that he can’t play, so he will be training for the game until he is told otherwise. Turner says that he is not sure why he didn’t call a cab, limousine, or another ride to come and pick him up. If you have been charged with a DUI, the consequences can be debilitating.
