18-Year-Old’s Bail Set at $320,000 in Hit and Run Case

An 18-year-old woman is being held in the Las Vegas City Jail after her arrest in a hit and run case involving eight injury victims. The accident happened at around 11:00 at night when a group of people leaving a church began crossing the street. A white sedan allegedly driven by the suspect, N.T., came down the dark street and failed to slow down as it approached the group of pedestrians. Her car struck eight people in the group. Video surveillance from a nearby camera shows several people lying on the ground in front of the car while others ran over to help.

Witness reports state that N.T. initially got out of her the car to see what happened but then got back in about a minute later and sped away. One of the witnesses called police and followed the white car. The car crashed into some construction equipment a few blocks from the accident location at which point N.T. ran away on foot. Police located her on a dead-end street near the I-15 and took her into custody. The eight pedestrians that were struck had suffered serious injuries. All except one of the injured individuals had been released from the hospital five days later but a 54-year-old man remains in critical condition. Talk to a criminal defense attorney now if you have been arrested for a crime involving serious injuries to others.

Teen Charged with Multiple Felonies

A sample of N.T.'s blood was taken to determine if she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident. Charges for DUI are pending depending on the results of the test but she has been charged with eight felony counts for hit and run, eight counts of gross misdemeanor failure to render aid and one count of obstructing a police officer by giving false information. N.T. is from Utah where she had been charged with solicitation. She had no license and no insurance but said she had been living in the car for the last week. The car had Utah plates and wasn't registered to her but had not been reported stolen.
