Florida Woman Pleads Guilty to DUI Manslaughter

In Tampa, Florida, a woman from Hillsborough County has pled "guilty" to charges of DUI manslaughter.  The woman, Cheryl Maria Riemann, was arrested after a 2008 motor vehicle accident left another woman dead and the woman's daughter seriously injured.

On Wednesday, Riemann entered her plea with the court in response to charges of DUI manslaughter, DUI resulting in serious injury and three counts of property damage.  Now, she will face 23 years of jail time during her October 27th sentencing.

Riemann was also supposed to be charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving.  However, they dropped those charges in exchange for her guilty plea.

If you have been charged with a serious DUI related offense, such as vehicular manslaughter, it is important that you have secured representation from a DUI attorney that can aid you in your defense.  Working with a lawyer is always your best option as conviction may result in tough legal penalties.
