Woman, 8 Months Pregnant, Accused of DUI and Marijuana Possession

Yesterday in West Lebanon, New York, a woman was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and for possessing marijuana.

Jennifer Caruso is 28 and 8 months pregnant.  When tested she was found to have a blood alcohol concentration twice the legal limit.

Ms. Caruso was pulled over at night by a state trooper after she almost struck his patrol car. Upon questioning it was apparent that she was not sober. She confessed to being lost on her way to Wal-Mart, which was the exit she missed 20 miles earlier.

Ms. Caruso will be back in court next week to answer charges of driving while intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. She is out on bail until then.

Driving under the influence is a serious offense. Because Caruso was was pregnant while driving under the influence, she could face additional charges like child endangerment. If you or someone you know has found themselves in this situation, obtaining highly qualified legal representation is imperative.
