Woman Causes 4 Car Accident while DUI

According to the Associated Press, police in the state of Delaware have charged a woman with driving under the influence as well as several other criminal offenses after three people suffered injuries during a four vehicle accident.

Officers say that 33-year-old Cassandra Lewis was released from jail on $15,500 unsecured bail following her arrest.

On Saturday afternoon, Lewis was driving the wrong way on Route 1.  Police say that while she was driving the wrong way, she forced a car operated by 30-year-old Allison Anderson Brooklyn into a nearby ditch.  Instead of stopping, she continued to drive the wrong way and crashed into 41-year-old Paresh Patel, forcing his vehicle to hit a road sign.

She then proceeded to hit 47 year-old Alminia Chandler. All victims had to be taken to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
