Man Hits Officer While Under the Influence of Marijuana

Not only did one man try to dodge a police checkpoint, but he actually hit a policeman in the process of doing so. The motorist has since been detained on multiple charges including hitting an officer and being under the influence of marijuana. According to the police report, O.T., 59, was driving when he saw the police checkpoint on a Riverside County highway. He attempted to make a U-turn but instead struck a police officer riding a motorcycle. However, the officer was uninjured and was able to pursue the driver of the pickup truck. He was eventually stopped in a nearby parking lot and detained on multiple charges including DUI arrest.
