29 Year Old Charged with DUI after Driving Wrong Way

This week, it was reported that 29-year-old driver who was traveling the wrong way was booked on suspicion of DUI on Saturday. The driver was arrested after crashing into a police officer's car.  News sources confirmed that no one was hurt during the DUI accident.

The incident took place at Main and M Streets at approximately 2:00 AM said the California Highway Patrol.  The offender, Crystal Genel, was allegedly heading northbound in the southbound lane of M Street while police officer Brian Bowen was driving his patrol car on Main Street and had stopped at M Street for a red light. 

Genel's vehicle went out of control and crashing to the front of the officer's car. After conducting an investigation, the California Highway Patrol determined that Genel had been driving under the influence.  She was placed under arrest and booked into Merced County Jail for suspicion of DUI.
