Prospect fro Astros Arrested for DUI

Delino DeShields Jr., a prospect for the Astros, was seen leaving a Georgia fraternity house before being arrested for DUI later that night, as well as two other misdemeanors.

The athlete was discovered to be driving the wrong way down a one-way street around 11:30 p.m. near the University of Georgia. Police from Athens-Clarke County reported that DeShields consented to a breath test and registered a blood-alcohol content of .076; this is above the legal limit for a driver under 21 of .02. He turned 18 in August.

DeShields told police that he had had only one beer at the Kappa Alpha party, but after searching the Escalade he was driving, they found four open bottles of liquor. This prompted police to charge him with underage possession of alcohol and for going down the street the wrong way. The athlete was released on bond two hours after being booked.
