Police Officer Safe After DUI Accident

One police officer was lucky to get away with his life after a serious DUI accident.

A man went before a judge in Summit County last week to be sentenced for causing the DUI accident. On March 31st the officer was gathering evidence on the side of a busy roadway when he was struck by the drunk driver. Although the officer survived the accident, he was left paralyzed from the waist down, as well as a broken arm.

The officer was present at the driver's sentencing, saying that he was not vindictive after the crash.  After hearing the summary of the case, the judge sentenced the suspect to six years behind bars.

When the driver was detained on that fateful evening, his blood-alcohol level was almost three times the state's legal limit.

If you have recently caused a DUI accident, there is no time to waste in hiring a DUI lawyer who can contest your charges on your behalf.
